All gear is free to hire with a fixed cash deposit per person.

Gear Locker Policy

  • Gear must be returned within 3 weeks otherwise deposit will be banked, after this point if gear is still not returned the committee may choose to file a claim to the dispute tribunal
  • Gear hire is free
  • Deposit is cash only and it is $60 per person hiring gear, except for plb/transceivers this is $100
  • You must be a member of the club and have paid the membership fee
  • The gear shed will not open upon request, it will only be open 5:30pm tuesday and thursday
  • The gear shed is only open during term time excluding the exam period
  • Gear hire over the break periods can be arranged in person 
  • If a PLB was used, the deposit will be banked.

The CUTC gear locker is an excellent resource exclusive to tramping club members. For a small hire fee and deposit, you can hire most of the gear you’ll need to get going. Just come and see the friendly gear locker officers during the open hours.
