Geese Beware,
of Hungry Trampers I’d Stay Clear!
A group of trampers – on the loose,
Saw an unsuspecting goose
Remembering they forgot their dinner,
They hoped she had some good meat in her.
So by means more foul than fair,
They sought to lure her from her lair. A well aimed missile made her dizzy,
Which sent those trampers in a tizzy.
Oh boy! That goose was fat,
So they rolled her in a tramping mat.
Off they set, ho hum!
Dreaming of goose in their tum.
It was a long walk to the hut,
Thanks to Katie’s “short-cut”.
The road fell in a hole,
And over they all rolled
Finally they arrived,
With a goose, no more alive.
So it was with great care,
They plucked feathers to style their hair.
After they’d fashioned the beast,
They had the most delicious feast.
Satisfied, they fell fast asleep,
Even the mice uttered not a squeak!
But just before they went to bed,
One little thing, had to be said:
This is really the ballad,
Of a forgotten bean salad!
